Matthew Huttle, a 42-year-old man from Hobart, Indiana, was fatally shot by a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop shortly after being pardoned by President Trump for a misdemeanor related to the January 6 Capitol riot. The incident is under investigation, with state police noting that Huttle was in possession of a firearm at the time of the stop. Huttle had previously been sentenced to six months in custody for entering a restricted building during the Capitol riot.
