Alzheimer's Blood Test Outperforms Standard Diagnostics in New Study

A new study shows that a blood test for diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease is about 90% accurate, outperforming dementia specialists and primary care physicians. The test, which measures the protein p-tau217, could streamline diagnosis and treatment, although it should not be the sole diagnostic tool. The study involved over 1,200 participants in Sweden and highlights the need for further validation in other countries.
