Storm tracker: Tropical depression likely to develop off Florida coast this weekend, NHC says

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave likely to develop into a tropical depression off Florida's coast this weekend, with a 60% chance of formation in the next 48 hours and 80% in the next week. Heavy rains may cause flash flooding in Florida, Cuba, and the Bahamas. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, with peak activity around September 10.
