Rayful Edmond, a notorious drug kingpin who controlled a significant portion of the cocaine trade in Washington, D.C. during the 1980s crack epidemic, has died in federal custody. Known as the 'king of cocaine', Edmond oversaw a vast drug network linked to numerous murders and was sentenced to life in prison. Despite his incarceration, he continued to manage drug operations from prison until he began cooperating with authorities to reduce his sentence.
