Paul Whelan Returns Home
Paul Whelan, a former U.S. Marine, has been released from Russian custody after more than five years, as part of a prisoner swap that included Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. President Biden condemned the arrests as unjust and expressed relief for the families of the released prisoners. Whelan's sister, Elizabeth, has been a strong advocate for his release, and U.S. Rep. Bill Keating has also supported efforts for his return.
