New cellular mechanisms in Parkinson's disease discovered by researchers

Category: Health

Clumps of RNA-binding proteins have been discovered in the nucleus of nerve cells derived from people with Parkinson’s disease, indicating multiple pathways are perturbed in the disease. A metabolic pathway disruption was also found in cells derived from Parkinson’s patients, leading to protein clumps forming in nerve cells.
