NASA Program Gives Three UM Students Opportunity to Design Satellite

Three University of Mississippi students are participating in NASA's 2024 Mission Concept program to design a small satellite, focusing on improving satellite communication speed using advanced techniques. They will spend time at the Kennedy Space Center and in Albuquerque, New Mexico, working on their CubeSat project, which aims to enhance communication in the Ka-band spectrum. The initiative provides educational institutions with low-cost access to space and aims for Ole Miss to eventually launch its own satellite.
