MLB's DEI executive Billy Bean dies at age 60

Billy Bean, the second former Major League Baseball player to come out as gay, has died at 60 after an 11-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He served as the MLB's Senior Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and was known for his dedication to making baseball a more inclusive sport. Bean came out in 1999 and was the only living openly gay Major League player. He is survived by his husband, Greg Baker.
