Lexington’s Lee Kiefer is now a two-time fencing gold medalist

Lee Kiefer, a University of Kentucky medical student, has become a two-time Olympic fencing gold medalist after defeating Lauren Scruggs 15-6 in the gold medal match. She previously won her first individual gold medal in Tokyo and has participated in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Kiefer finished the 2022-2023 season as the world's top-ranked fencer, making her the first U.S. women's foil fencer to achieve this ranking.
