IRS sending out $2.4 billion worth of stimulus checks: Are you eligible to receive one?

Category: Finance

The IRS is automatically sending stimulus checks to eligible taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax return. Taxpayers do not need to take any action to receive the payment, which will be sent by direct deposit or paper check. The maximum payment is $1,400, with a total of $2.4 billion being distributed nationwide. Those who did not file a 2021 tax return can still claim the credit by filing by April 15, 2025.
