John Mayall, the influential British blues musician, passed away at his California home at the age of 90. Known as the godfather of British blues, he significantly impacted rock music by mentoring artists like Eric Clapton and Mick Fleetwood. Mayall lived in Los Angeles for much of his life and was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He continued to perform into his 80s, with his last show in 2022.
