FIRST ALERT: FLASH FLOOD WATCH continues in the Pee Dee, locally heavy rain likely through Friday

Category: Weather

Locally heavy rain and isolated flash flooding are expected through Friday, particularly in the Pee Dee region. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for several counties due to saturated soils and additional rainfall. Tropical moisture will bring rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the highest risk of flooding inland. Rainfall amounts may reach 1 to 3 inches, with isolated areas exceeding 4 inches. A weak cold front will bring drier air and lower rain chances over the weekend.
