More than 220,000 Chicago-area residents were left without power after severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings hit the region. The storms caused widespread damage, including uprooted trees, downed power lines, and traffic disruptions. Restoration efforts are underway, but it may take days to fully restore power. River flood warnings and watches are in effect for Illinois and Indiana.
