President Joe Biden posthumously pardoned Black nationalist Marcus Garvey, who was convicted of mail fraud in the 1920s. Other pardons included Virginia lawmaker Don Scott, immigrant rights activist Ravi Ragbir, and prison reform advocate Kemba Smith Pradia. Biden has set a record for individual pardons and commutations, including commuting sentences for nearly 2,500 nonviolent drug offenders and reducing the sentences of federal death row inmates.
