Air pollutant exposure is linked to an increased risk of developing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), as per a study. The research found positive associations between air pollutants like PM2.5, PM10, NO2, and NOx, and incident SLE. Individuals with high genetic risk and high air pollution exposure had the highest risk for SLE.
